Author Profile

Judy Karasik is the co-author, with her brother Paul, of The Ride Together: A Brother and Sister's Memoir of Autism in the Family, which has won awards from both the Autism Society of America and The Comics Journal.

She consults to non-profits, government, higher education and foundations on organizational and fundraising issues, most recently working with the Community HealthCorps on workforce development. She was part of the team that designed and started AmeriCorps’ national training and technical assistance division at the Corporation for National Service and has written several major research and policy papers on national service in America.

Her professional life began as a fiction editor and she worked closely on novels by Louise Erdrich and Julius Lester, among others. She lives with her family in Maryland and in Italy.
