More than 150,000 applications for Apple’s iPad are now available for download, and many have been designed for students and teachers. One application offers students a visual exploration of the periodic table, and one sponsored by the language-learning site Hello-Hello.com allows users to study Spanish or connect with native speakers of that and other languages. One application offers users free access to a digital library of about 4,000 children’s books in more than 50 languages.
