About the Conference:
RESNA, the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America, is the primary professional organization promoting the development and application of technology for people with disabilities. The annual RESNA conference brings together researchers, practitioners, policy specialists, manufacturers, educators, and consumers interested in the field.
This year’s conference will be held in Phoenix on June 17-19 at the beautiful Arizona Biltmore Resort. There will be two days of Instructional Courses June 15-16, followed by three days of workshops, paper presentations, and networking opportunities. The conference includes an Exhibit Hall featuring the latest assistive technology products from a wide range of leading companies and cutting-edge research taking place at two dozen federally-funded Rehabilitation Engineering Research Centers. Scientific research papers and interactive workshops will present information applicable to people of all ages and disabilities. They will address issues relating to education, employment, computer access, seating and mobility, communication, environmental controls, research methodologies, outcomes measures, and product development. This year’s conference will feature a special double session sponsored by the National Science Foundation on Emerging Technologies that may impact the future of assistive technology. The NSF also sponsors a National Student Design Competition with the finalists demonstrating their products at the conference. Complete information at www.resna.org.
