Michael Russell

Associate Professor, Lynch School of Education and Director, Technology and Assessment Study Collaborative (inTASC), Boston College

Dr. Russell is an Associate Professor in the Lynch School of Education and the Director of the Technology and Assessment Study Collaborative (inTASC) at Boston College. Dr. Russell is also the founder and Chief Editor of the Journal of Technology, Learning, and Assessment and has been a member of the Center for the Study of Testing, Evaluation, and Educational Policy (CSTEEP) since 1994. His research interests lie at the intersection of technology, learning, and assessment and include applications of technology to testing and impacts of technology on students and their learning. In addition to his current research, Dr. Russell has conducted a series of randomized experiments that examine the impact of paper-based tests on the performance of students accustomed to writing on computers and has conducted several mixed methods studies that examine impacts of technology on teaching and learning.
